Mary is a founding member of Equis Law Group, LLC and has over fourteen years of experience specializing in the complex legal aspects of commercial real estate matters including property acquisition and disposition, leasing, property operating issues, reciprocal easement agreements, and financing.
Prior to co-founding Equis, Mary was a Senior Attorney at Charles J. Benvenuto, P.C. where she represented clients in acquisition, disposition, leasing, financing, and management of commercial real estate. She also developed expertise in tenant in common (TIC) owned property issues. Before that, Mary was Senior Counsel with General Growth Properties, Inc. where her responsibilities included handling a wide variety of real estate law matters for a portfolio of retail properties consisting of regional shopping centers and community centers. Mary began her legal career with Schiff Hardin LLP where she handled transfers of commercial and residential real estate, represented landlords and tenants in leasing and subleasing transactions, and managed real estate matters arising in connection with corporate acquisitions and institutional loans.
Outside the office, Mary has served on the board of Chicago Volunteer Legal Services and enjoys singing soprano with Chicago Master Singers.
Mary is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association (ISBA).
