Mike is a founding member of Equis Law Group, LLC. He has over 30 years of diverse real estate law experience representing public and private sector clients in commercial, office, retail, and industrial real estate transactions including acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, financing, eminent domain, development and construction.
Prior to co-founding Equis, Mike was with the firm of Charles J. Benvenuto, P.C., where he served clients in commercial acquisitions, dispositions and leasing. Before joining Charles J. Benvenuto, P.C., Mike was Senior Counsel with Bridgestone Retail Operations, LLC, a subsidiary of Bridgestone Americas, Inc. and its parent, Bridgestone Corporation, Tokyo, Japan. His responsibilities included handling a wide variety of real estate law matters under a global shared services platform which included a portfolio of 2,230 retail properties and hundreds of industrial properties. He served as lead counsel for all real estate litigation, eminent domain matters and ADA compliance and protocol development for Bridgestone Americas, Inc. Mike began his legal career in 1987 with Tishman Speyer Properties, Inc. in Chicago and, in 1989, he founded his own real estate law practice which he developed and expanded to include offices in Illinois and Wisconsin. While in private practice, he represented REITs, private equity groups, financial institutions, family trusts, and partnerships specializing in office, retail, multi-family and industrial real estate transactions.
Outside the office, Mike has served as a board member of Glenview Youth Baseball and Glenview Blaze Baseball Organization. In addition, Mike is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), the Illinois State Bar Association (ISBA), and the State Bar of Wisconsin.
